NZ – SINGAPORE                                                                              one night in Singapore

Day 1: Flying Singapore Airlines on direct flights from CHC and AKL we stop for a night in Singapore to break the journey. Sightseeing options and ‘browsing’ the shops will be possible, or you may prefer to simply relax at the hotel.

SINGAPORE – MANCHESTER – YORK                                                    three nights in York

Days 2-3:  Our flight departs late evening bound for the UK. On arrival we’ll be transferred by coach to picturesque York, where we’ll do some sightseeing and familiarisation of York before giving you the rest of the day to relax.

Day 4: We begin the morning with a visit to the renowned National Railway Museum, heralded as one of the leading museums of its type in the world with a collection of over 100 locomotives including ‘Mallard’ and the incredible display of ‘Palaces on wheels’. The afternoon is free to wander the quaint cobbled streets and perhaps a visit to the famed ‘Minster’.

Day 5: Keswick in the beautiful Lakes district is our destination today. A Mecca for devotee’s young and old alike of the worlds most famous secret agent   ‘James Bond 007’,   and a museum in his honour which has just opened. Following this we’ll continue to another popular site, ‘Cars of the Stars’, a short but apt description of its exhibits and their prestige.

YORK – WADDINGTON                                                                one night in Lincolnshire

Day 6: Bound for Lincolnshire, considered ‘spiritual home’ and host of the R.A.F’s famed ‘Waddington Air show’,   featuring dozens of both flying and static displays of military and civilian aircraft plus a host of stands and stalls.

Day 7: After a full day at the Air show we make our way to London, home for the next three nights.

Day 8: Today is yours to do with as you please. There are a considerable number of sights all within easy reach and the Underground is a safe, simple way to get about quickly and conveniently between them. We will offer suggestions such as Madame Tussards, the Cabinet War rooms, London eye, Tower of London, London Dungeons, HMS Belfast etc, but it’s your day, you decide!

Day 9: Making our way south, our destination today is Beaulieu. Not only one of the finest stately Homes and most beautiful gardens’ in the UK but also home to the ‘National Motor Museum’, the ‘Secret Army exhibition’ and recently added ‘World of Top Gear’  which is bound to bring out the ‘Stig’ in us.

LONDON – BOLOGNA – MODENA                                                 four nights in Modena

Day 10: In the early afternoon we fly from London to Bologna in Italy, where on arrival we’ll be met and taken to our accommodation in the historic centre of Modena.

Day 11: This morning we’re off to peruse some of the most beautiful, powerful and desirable machines of motorcycling icon, Ducati. Leaders in the manufacture of high powered machines and a prominent name in the ‘MotoGP’ and ‘Superbikes’ series.  The 851 and 888 inspired a generation of younger riders, and the 916 is the pinnacle of fine design, aesthetics and performance.  7 large halls showcase all that Ducati has become famous for.
In the afternoon we make a visit to the Panini Museum, proudly displaying the finest collection of Maseratis, in the most unlikely of settings, a Parmesan cheese factory. With everything from the ‘Eldorado’ driven by Stirling Moss to the prototype of the highly desirable Chubasa. 

Day 12: Today we visit another ‘exotic Italian’. With Gallardo and Murcielago just two of the more recent thoroughbreds popular with lovers of the Lamborghini pedigree, our tour will showcase the other great ‘ponies’ in this prestigious stable with a visit to the museum and factory, where we can witness first hand the assembly plant of these majestic beasts, as well as time to reminisce over some of the classics such as the ‘Countach’.

Day 13: Further talk of horses and stables today can mean only one thing....the prancing horse synonymous with one of the world’s most respected luxury sports car manufacturers and highly competitive F1 contender, Ferrari!  Who wouldn’t recognise the iconic Testarossa, or turn their head at a passing 550 Maranello. While visiting their museum today we might even be fortunate enough to see production of the F430 while we’re there.


MODENA – BOLOGNA – MUNICH                                              four nights in Munich

Day 14: This morning we make our way back to Bologna airport for our flight to Munich.
The theme changes a little as we journey back to the 1940’s. During WWll, Hitler had an incredible fortress known as the Eagles Nest’ high atop a mountain, built for him as a gift by the Nazi party to celebrate his 50th Birthday. Our guided tour will take us through some spectacular scenery and includes an elevator ride inside the mountain to the ‘nest’ itself.  

Day 15:.Today we’re going to the home of one of the automobile industry’s greatest success stories, Audi, and their undeniably established presence in the luxury car market. We’ve arranged for a fantastic tour behind the scenes in the manufacturing process of one of their ‘marques’  followed by free-time  in their world leading museum....and shop. With over 80 cars and motorcycles on display over 3 levels, dating back to 1899, Audi is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!

Day 16: Another day for you to do as you please. For the real enthusiasts, a visit to the Deutsch Museum offers over 13 acres of displays and memorabilia from the past. Others may wish to take a tour to the fabulous Neuschwanstein’s castle, or possibly Dachau concentration camp, a sobering reminder of mans ultimate inhumanity.

Day 17:.Returning to the theme of the tour today we start with a behind the scenes glimpse of the spectacular BMW plant and time to peruse their impressive collection of vehicles in an equally impressive display over seven incredible themed exhibition houses, each containing 2-3 large display rooms.

MUNICH – STUTTGART                                                                 four nights in Stuttgart

Day 18: Boarding our coach this morning we take a pleasant ride to Stuttgart, home to many of today’s finest motoring Marque’s, and after lunch we start with one of the best known and most highly regarded, Mercedes Benz. Over 120 years of incredible automotive innovation, over three floors in a state of the art complex. Starting with a guided tour we’ll then give you plenty of time to peruse their fine collection from early vintage cars, to their racing pedigree, through to high powered sports cars and luxury saloons.

Day 19: There are certain words and numbers that are synonymous with  excitement, such as ‘911’, ‘GT3’ and ‘Carrera’ but one word above all captures the essence of all these and accolades from motoring officiandos  around the globe, and that name is Porsche!. Today we tour the museum of one of the most innovative and exciting names in motoring today, allowing  plenty of time to drool over the fine lines and shapely curves of ‘bodies’ that could arguably match the best on Baywatch. 

Day 20:  Adding variety to our days once again, we visit the incredible Speyer Technik today. Specialising in dramatic displays of Aircraft, spacecraft, rockets and Submarines, with over 3000 exhibits and 25,000sq.m of viewing area indoors, plus another 150,000 sq.m outdoors, the Speyer Technik will enthral.

Day 21: Today is free for you to wander Stuttgart as you please. Alternatively there is also the highly recommended Sinsheim Museum with another 3000 exhibits including the largest permanent F1 collection in Europe, 300 classic cars, 200 motorbikes, 60 aircraft, 40 sports cars & 20 locomotives!.

STUTTGART – MULHOUSE                                                                 two nights in Mulhouse

Day 22: We embark on a truly scenic drive today as we journey from Stuttgart to Mulhouse in France. The afternoon is free to enjoy the unique essence of this charming town.

Day 23: Combining a fascinating history of one of the worlds most sought after automobiles with an extraordinary tale of two brother’s unbridled obsession today gives us one of the largest private collections of Bugattis in the world. Ultimately it would be their passion for Bugatti and other sought after motorcars that would be the Schlumpf Brothers downfall, but the full story and the presence of these magnificent machines can only be fully appreciated from the source. This collection spans over 430 vehicles!

 BASEL- LONDON- SINGAPORE                                                        one night in Singapore

Days 24-25: All good things must come to an end, and so it is for us too sadly as we make our way to Basel airport today and our flight to London. Re-boarding Singapore Airlines we make a one night stop in Singapore.

Days 26 – 27: Late evening we board an aircraft for the last time on this tour, as we make our way back into AKL and CHC to complete our fantastic journey.


OPTIONAL EXTENSIONS

Farnborough Air show extension

Days 24-26: For those who have the time and desire there is the option to stay on in London for another 3 nights to take in one of the worlds foremost Air shows, Farnborough.  Over the following two days there’ll be  time for the die-hard enthusiast to experience all the sights, sounds and smells of avgas fuelled action, and for those with only a passing interest there’s the option to stay in London for some last minute retail therapy, or other sightseeing.

Days 27-29: Today those who stay on will be transferred to the airport to start making their way home, with a brief transit stop en-route before arriving back in New Zealand.
